Read the following pages

  • Usability pages below. Do not complete any of the activities on the pages yet (you will do that in Activities 2-5). Right now concentrate on reading.
  • Compile a list of the different elements which need to be included in a usability test! Explain each element. (Post this on your blog.)

Read the following pages

  • Download the test plan.
  • Reread the pages in Activity 1  and the ones to the right.

  • Complete the sections for the usability test  plan from Section 1 to Section 6 !
    (Post a draft as you complete each section on your blog.)

  • Understanding of principles t o be assessed in application in design of usability test.

 Usability Testing: Conduct Test

Activity 3

Read the following pages

  • Using your test plan, conduct the usability test.
  • You must follow your test plan as closely as possible.
  • Take notes (you may hand-write them) while you conduct the test especially take note of where the user
    • is having difficulty
    • takes too long
    • has questions
    • does something incorrectly, etc.
  • Scan your notes and post a copy in your blog. OR Type out your notes and post a copy in your blog.

  2. Reflect on your usability test

Usability Testing: Understand the Test Goals

Activity 4

Read the following pages

  • Using your test plan and the notes from the test, write a report on the outcome of the test.
  • Use the following template for your report: Usability Report Template
  • Your report should be from 300-500 words long. Make sure to explain what you did, what went right, and what went wrong.
  • Here is an example of a Usability Report (yours of course does not have to be as long)
  • Reflect on your usability test: read instruction here.

Assessment

  • Understanding of principles to be assessed in application of usability test.
