Usability Test Assignment

 Testing the Usability of Instructions

 Description

Now that you have created your set of instructions, we will conduct a test to measure how usable the instructions are.

You will create your test plan in conjunction with your team member.  You can decide to focus on testing only one set of instructions or you can work on the test plan for each of your instructions. You can decide if you will work on the plan together or if you will break up the sections and be responsible for each section independently. Buzzword will work great for this. Don''t forget to share the document with me.

Once you have the test plan, you will conduct your own test (so each of you has to conduct the test even if you have only one set of instructions which you are testing) and share your results with your partner. You will again collaborate to draft the Usability Report and the reflection.

When you submit this assignment (you will submit via Buzzword), you will turn in  your usability tasks/scenarios, usability matrix, your usability report, and your reflection.

 Learning Outcomes/Evaluation Criteria

  • Your usability scenarios are relevant to the tasks users should be able to accomplish with your instructions.
  • Your usability report summarizes the usability problems and your plans to address those problems in addition to the other elements of a usability report we discussed in class.
  • You will articulate the benefits and difficulties of collaborate work.
