Conclusion for Instructions

Conclusion for Instructions

How to write the concluding section for your instructions assignment.

Conclusion

Every document has a beginning, middle, and end.  This includes instructions.

How you end your instructions is up to you but you need to do the following:

  • give the user a  sense that they are finished;
  • give the user a feeling of accomplishment.

You can write your instructions to provide:

  • a summary (this is what you have learned...);
  • a call to action (now that you know how to do this, you can...);
  • a call for further research (the next step is to...).

The first gives the user a sense that they have completed something, while the last two gives the user an understanding that what they have learned is only the beginning and they can learn much more.
